Synopsis:
An Indonesian omnibus movie adapted from the best-selling book from Dewi Lestari. Directed by 5 talented Indonesian female directors, which are also well known, very influential and respected Indonesian actresses.
“RectoVerso” elegantly showcases five intense unspoken love stories intertwined as one solid movie, exploring love from a women’s perspective and under various challenging circumstances:
a mother’s relationship with his autistic son;
a death premonition about someone’s love;
an unbearable feeling of losing someone to the point of escaping;
a truelove between best friends that was always there but never realized;
a secret admirer’s love that can never be expressed.
“RectoVerso” is one of the two Indonesian movies presented in Cannes this year.
Special screening supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, East West Synergy, the Indonesian Heritage Society and the Institut Français of Indonesia.
