Anna and the Tower

Anna and the Tower is a 3-channel installation co-commissioned by TIFF and the Goethe-Institut Toronto that conflates documentary and performance. Filmed in an under-utilized airport outside of Berlin that was once a Soviet airbase, the work conveys both a sense of latency and expectation, and a desire to will events into being.
Co-commissioned by the Goethe-Institut Toronto and Toronto International Film Festival, 2014. Presented in collaboration with Scrap Metal Gallery, Toronto.

<em>BMX Channel</em> and <em>Midnight Traceur</em>

BMX Channel and Midnight Traceur

Linked to the artist's interest in street culture and subculture and his early participation in extreme sports, these works, presented at The Drake Hotel and at TIFF Bell Lightbox respectively, are complemented by nightly screenings of several earlier works at Drake One Fifty.

Nature of the Self

Nature of the Self

Laurent Montaron's film Nature of the Self considers the changeable nature of representations of the self, both physical and psychological, the mechanics of seeing and the origins of memory and conscious thought. It is presented as a single-channel installation to be viewed through a two-way mirror.
Special thanks to the Consulate General of France in Toronto. Presented in collaboration with Mercer Union, a centre for contemporary art, Toronto.

The latest film from American artist Amie Siegel is part of a constellation of works exploring an emblem of mid-century modernism: furniture designed by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret as part of their utopian conception for the Indian city of Chandigarh. Provenance is exhibited with the video Circuit, filmLot 248, and a Lucite-encased inkjet print Proof (Christie's 19 October, 2013).
Presented in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art.

Seoul-based art collaborative Young-Hae Chang Heavy Industries pay tribute to their hometown with a septet of "feature-like films" commissioned as part of the Festival's City to City spotlight on the South Korean capital.
