The World Premiere of THE GIVER, directed by Phillip Noyce followed by a live performance of the theme song “Ordinary Human,” by OneRepublic was held at the Ziegfeld Theater, New York, Monday, August 11, 2014, 7:00pm. Presented by The Weinstein Company, the premiere red carpet arrivals included cast members Brenton Thwaites, Cameron Monaghan, Jeff Bridges, Katie Holmes, Meryl Streep, Odeya Rush, Taylor Swift, and invited guests.
THE GIVER is a powerful film based on the novel by Lois Lowry that depicts a futuristic totalitarian society where love is forbidden and suppressed by medication. When young Jonas (Brenton Thwaites) is given memory and wisdom from the Receiver (Jeff Bridges), his fate is set on a mystical quest to return to his society the very essence of life. This tremendous movie loaded with subliminal messages is one of this year’s top films!
