For its Closing Night, La Semaine de la Critique, always eager to discover new cinematic expressions, will explore 3D and question its evolution in the world of cinema. Filmmakers Jean-Luc Godard, Peter Greenaway and Edgar Pêra, after experimenting and researching the topic in the two thousand year old city of Guimarães, will present a surprising triptych, made up of 3 short films. With 3X3D, the collective tackles the creative process. How does 3D affect the audience and its perception of images?
In Just in Time, Peter Greenaway takes an in-depth look at the superposition of images. With The Three Disasters, Jean-Luc Godard sketches what could well be a Histoire(s) du Cinéma in 3D, the premise of his next feature film. Edgar Pêra concludes the triptych with Cinesapiens, another, more playful history of cinema.
3X3D by Jean-Luc Godard, Peter Greenaway and Edgar Pêra will be presented
during the Closing Night of the 52nd Semaine de la Critique on Thursday 23 May.
