On July 7, 1990, a magical night took place in Rome: José Carreras, Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti sang together for the very first time in the ancient Baths of Caracalla giving life to the biggest classical music project of the century, The Three Tenors. Twenty-six years later, worldwide platinum selling artists, Il Volo, pay tribute to the event with their new live concert event, "Notte Magica - A Tribute to The Three Tenors". The concert took place at the Piazza Santa Croce, one of the most beautiful plazas in Florence. Il Volo performed a program that encompassed popular famous Neapolitan songs and arias from the Italian and international operatic repertoire. As a special guest, Maestro Plácido Domingo not only conducted the orchestra of the famous Teatro Massimo di Palermo in eight pieces during the evening, but also joined Il Volo to sing “Non ti scordar di me”. Twenty-six years after the début appearance by The Three Tenors, Il Volo paid tribute to this event and to the three Maestri, delivering to a younger audience the same experience and emotions as on that magical night.
Over the next months, Il Volo will perform across Europe, USA, Latin America and Asia, as well as getting ready for their next world tour, which kicks off in March 2017 in the USA. |
