André Forcier’s KISS ME LIKE A LOVER to open 40th Montreal World Film Festival

André Forcier’s Embrasses-moi comme tu m’aimes will open the 40thedition of the Montreal World Film Festival, it was announced.  The film’s world premiere in the MWFF’s World Competition will mark the fourth time a Forcier feature has competed in the festival, having won a variety of awards for Une histoire inventé (1990), A Wind From Wyoming (1994) andCoteau Rouge (2011). Scripted by Forcier and Linda Pinet, the film was produced by Louis Laverdière and Linda Pinet.

“André Forcier has had a long history with the Festival including as member of the jury in 2006,” noted MWFF president Serge Losique. “We are happy to be hosting his work again.”

1940. The Second World War is raging in Europe. In Montreal, Pierre Sauvageau, 22, wants to join the army but he must take care of his twin sister Berthe, paraplegic from birth. This closeness awakens Berthe's sensuality who tries to seduce her brother. Pierre rejects her advances, but when he falls in love with Marguerite, the girlfriend of his best buddy, he is haunted by the fantasy of his sister. He would like to get rid of it, but the fantasy of Berthe is very persistent.

André Forcier’s singular world is once again populated with the cream of Quebec acting talent including Émile Schneider, Juliette Gosselin, Mylène Mackay, Céline Bonnier, Tony Nardi, Antoine Bertrand, Réal Bossé, Roy Dupuis, France Castel, Denys Arcand, Pascale Montpetit, Julien Poulin, Rémy Girard, Marc Hervieux and many others.
