Green Film Network: GFN
GFN AWARD is the transnational award for the best environmental documentary of the year.
Each year a festival, supported by the GFN, hosts the GFN Award taking charge of the organization and prize. Each GFN’s member presents a documentary, chosen from his last edition and produced in their own country (in some particular cases in the their own geographic area), to show the diversity and the strength of environmental documentary around the world.
The GFN Award as a Documentary competition: one “national” film, chosen by each event. The idea is to welcome the “national” production and to promote documentaries from different countries to allow them to be discovered by other members.
The films, presented on a private platform, are uploaded in English version or with English subtitles. An International Jury have to watch the films on this platform and reward one of the documentaries. The prize is also in money.
Each year the event are host by a different GFN member, but always supported by the network.
The second edition of the GFN Award will be hosted by Festival ECOZINE in Zaragoza, Spain (May 2015).
