Dutch Features Global Entertainment (DFGE) has secured the rights to festival favorite You Carry Me, the official Montenegrin entry for the 88th Academy Awards®, and returns to Berlinale’s European Film market 2016 to commence world wide sales for this critically acclaimed film. The award-winning film with female-driven story, received international rave reviews and was nicknamed the European cousin of Paul Haggis’ Crash.
Filmmaker Ivona Juka’s feature film debut is an emotionally charged ensemble drama, set in contemporary Croatia. You Carry Me (original title: Ti Mene Nosis) tells the story of three of three daughters who battle for acceptance, redemption and new opportunities. Dora is a neglected girl, who dreams about becoming a football coach. Suddenly, her outlaw father enters her life. Ives, a soap opera director, loses her relationship with her father who suffers from Alzheimer’s. Natasa, a successful producer is pregnant. When things go awry for her, she decides to confront her estranged father to accept the future.
Other highlights of DFGE’s new slate for Berlin International Film Festival include Riphagen, Roadduster and Murdered Memory. In addition to the new slate, DFGE will also be presenting family and children’s favorites, such as Mr Twister, Dummie the Mummy and Rhubarb. The films star some of the industry’s most celebrated children’s characters and exemplify the diversity of DFGE’s rapidly expanding catalogue.
