Breaking Glass Pictures has released the LGBT dramedy CHARLIE just in time for the Sundance Film Festival! The short film is NOW available exclusively on www.watchbgpfilms.com. Written and directed by the film's title character, Shawn Ryan ("Bones", "America's Got Talent"), CHARLIE screened at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival where Shawn was nominated for the Emerging Filmmaker Award in The American Pavilion.
The film also stars Jim O' Heir ("Parks and Rec"), Mo Collins ("MADtv"), and Golden Globe Nominee Andrea Marcovicci.
CHARLIE went on to screen at numerous film festivals including Newport Beach Int. Film Fest, Q Cinema Film Festival, Out on Film Festival, Cincinnati Film Festival, Garden State Film Festival, Palm Beach Int. Film Festival, and Q! Film Festival. CHARLIE won Best Actor at the Riverbend Film Festival, Best Short at the Gulf Coast Film Festival, and Best International Short at the Shropshire Film Festival.
Official Synopsis:
CHARLIE is the story of a young man who goes mute after putting his abusive past behind him. When Charlie faints in front of the Sanderson family home on Christmas Eve, the Sanderson's decide to take him in as one of their own. Charlie begins to bloom in this loving environment where perfect strangers show him that actions truly speak louder than words.
