UNION BOUND is a adventure with high artistic merit and educational value. The film explores heroism, loyalty, friendship, sacrifice, and the quest for freedom.
Based on the life of Joseph Hoover this amazing true story begins when he finds himself captured and put on a train in a boxcar bound for Florence SC, his only mission is to escape and get back to his unit.

After enduring six months in"Andersonville” the worst prison of the Civil War, his chance and hope for freedom appears.

Together with his friend and fellow Union soldier they escape. Hiding from danger during the day and walking during the treacherous nights the two finally find help in an underground railway. A slave named James Young risks all to save the two soldiers, helps them make it back to their regiment after weeks on the run by foot. Hoover survives the war and receives several medals for his valor. Living to tell his grandchildren his life story.
