In the film, Russo and Platt star in a fictionalized account of the life of 80’s one-hit wonder Frank Garcia and his eccentric wife Cindy Brown. Their real-life story was also documented by their son G.J. Echterncamp, who directed the 2007 documentary of the same name which played festivals nationwide and was featured on “This American Life” on NPR.

In an attempt to mock his one- hit-wonder step-father, G.J. unintentionally creates a candid portrait of the pursuit of happiness—and love.
