Short Film CRAFTED will have a World Premiere at LA Fest

CRAFTED is a new documentary short film directed and produced by Academy Award®-nominated Morgan Spurlock. CRAFTED travels the world and explores the lives of three modern artisans: the Chefs behind Bar Tartine (San Francisco, Calif.), Bloodroot Blades (Georgia), and Nagatani-en (Iga, Japan).

CRAFTED captures remarkable artisans who have mastered their trades. Through these documentary subjects, Spurlock explores how modern cultural influences and technology have allowed artisans to exceed previous expectations and attain the “perfect” product.

The documentary was created to explore the mindset of today’s artisan and determine how artisanship has evolved along with—or, at times, in spite of—new technologies that allow instantaneous sharing of knowledge and sourcing of ingredients. Brave creators are breaking from the norm and returning to their roots to master age-old art forms that are more relevant than ever in today’s world.

CRAFTED will screen at the 2015 Los Angeles Film Festival on Tuesday, June 16 at 6:00PM.
