Jan Soldat commented on his selection in Berlinale:
"My first feature lenght documentary “Prison System 4614” will have its world premiere at the Panorama of the 65th Berlinale. “Prison System 4614” is about a private, self-built prison, in which men can be imprisoned and tortured voluntarily.
It’s a fetish role-play, where you can live prison and torture-fantasies for real. As warden or as prisoner.
I observed that event over one week with my camera.
This films follows in a row of short documentaries, which I shot about diffenrent ways to live sexuality.

Jan Soldat was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt, East Germany in 1984, he made short films in the Chemnitz Film Workshop and then began studying film and television directing at the University of Film and Television ‘Konrad Wolf ’ in Potsdam in 2008.
His films have screened at the Berlinale several times: GELIEBT in Berlinale Shorts in 2010, ZUCHT UND ORDNUNG in the Panorama and CRAZY DENNIS TIGER in Generation 14plus in 2012. In 2014, he was a member of the Generation 14plus International Jury.
HAFTANLAGE 4614 is the second in a four-part documentary series about games involving prison role play The first part “Hotel Straussberg” was screened at Viennale ‘14.The third part “The Visit” and the fourth part “The Sixth Season” were shown together at the 44th International Film Festival Rotterdam 2015.
